The recent development of crowdfunding has massively helped the amateur filmmaking community over the past few years by attracting audiences to films and allowing them to directly fund the projects. Websites such as Kickstarter and Indiegogo have allowed filmmakers to showcase their work and plans for a project to a global audience who can then decide to pledge money to the film to help it get made, in return the people who pledge get rewards such as a digital download of the finished film or cinema tickets for the opening night.
