We as a group used a range of new media technologies that thoroughly influenced the creation of our film. When planning, we used google as an internet browser to research films that influenced us to make Nemesis, this was significant in the creation of our teaser trailer. At AS, we used iMovie and after it being successful, we continued to use the editing software for A2 also. We decided to develop our effects by using Adobe Premiere Pro and creating a video-inside text effect, we used an urban video which related to the gangster theme. Furthermore, we decided to use Adobe again when creating our Poster and Magazine with Photoshop, this software helped us layer different textual and visual effects onto the magazine/poster.
When filming at AS, we only used one camera being the Nikon D3200, for A2 we wanted to capture live moments from different angles so we decided to use the Canon 100D also, this gives the audience another perspective on the scene being shot. We had access to Blogger and an iMac to store our project, this was crucial as we could also showcase our work. Social media was a huge influence on our film as we used Facebook and Twitter to constantly give the target audience updates on our film such as interviews with main characters and when the film is coming out. I used Youtube to constantly post questions, video trials like time lapse sequences and prototypes of text on screen for the film trailer. We chose to use an iPhone as artificial lighting in our film, we put the phone torch behind the antagonist's head to create an eerie, dark effect that suits the character.
I used powerpoint and slideshare as a multimedia application to put information onto my blog, these technologies were very useful for the evaluation and the way we answered our questions.
